Nassau, Bahamas

Thursday morning we woke up in Nassau where the high was a whopping 74 degrees. We had breakfast in the Palace Dining Room and then walked around the ship planning our day.Courtney got ambitious and decided to wear shorts.

We decided to first take a horse drawn carriage ride around the city to get the lay out. This was one of my most fun memories. Scott sat in the front with the driver,

and I squeezed in the back with these 2:

We saw loads of old historic buildings, but I was taken by the hospitals. Princess Margaret Hospital is the free hospital in town. Actually it is not completely free, one of the tour guides said it cost her $6 to have her child there (I would have loved to have seen the inside--I think).

Doctor's hospital is the one where the weathly go, which costs what a typical U.S. hospital might. It also happens to be the one where Anna Nicole Smith's baby was born and also where her son died 3 days later:

We decided to have lunch at the over-priced, over-rated Hard Rock Cafe for old times sake,

Then some good island ice cream,

We then made the hike up to Queen Victoria's staircase. The staircase was carved by slaves and consists of 65 steps--one for each year of the queen's reign:

The top of the staircases is Bennets Hill which overlooks Nassau. Up there is Fort Fincastle where we stopped for a tour,

The view is amazing from the top. We could even see the new resort, Atlantis:

Scott and Preston went back to the ship to the arcade room while Courtney and I stayed back and shopped a bit and then got her hair braided,

I love, love, love the torquoise waters of the Carribean:

We had yet another amazing dinner, and then saw a fantastic Broadway show. A very nice day.
